13 Flags Memorial

The community gathers on at Veterans Park for the procession down Balfour Road in Brentwood, CA

13 Flags Memorial honoring our fallen service members in Kabul. The Brentwood and surrounding community came together and walked from Veterans Park to the Brentwood Police Station.

Gathering at Veterans Park

Families, veterans, students, and law enforcement gathered at Veterans Park to prepare for the procession to the Brentwood Police Department. A caravan of cars lined up and the names of the fallen were displayed on the windshields.

Coming Together

The event organizer and Chaplain from Pittsburg Police Department said a few words.

The Procession and Ceremony

Law enforcement officers from Brentwood, Oakley, Antioch, Pittsburg, and the California Highway Patrol lead the caravan out of the park and on to the streets; providing traffic control so that attendees could start the walk down Balfour Road toward the police station. Members of the community stopped on the side of the road as the procession passed to honor the fallen.

After arriving at the police department, attendees gathered for the flag presentation. Cadets folded each flag and presented them to be delivered to the families of the service members.
